My name is Dr Laine Jaderberg and I am a Consultant Child, Adolescent and Parent-Child psychotherapist working in the NHS and in private practice. I have an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and am a Doctor of Psychotherapy. I am fully registered with the BACP and the UKCP (and on the specialist UKCP Child and Adolescent register). I am a Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine and I was invited in 2021 to be a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (for contribution to creative psychological therapy and research). I am also trained to level 3 EMDR (trauma therapy).

I work with:
Children
Adolescents
Parents (with or without babies/children/adolescents/adult children)
Adults
Couples
Families

My Doctoral research focused on parent-child psychotherapy which produced the VPT model (The Vital Parenting Tasks) which is now used in many local authorities, schools, and in Family Court work when assessing and working with children and families ordered by the court. I have also published/conference presented on the use of the VPT, clinical work with parents, creative therapy, parenting styles, and psychosomatic medicine.

My clinical experience includes work with children, adolescents, families, and adult individuals and couples in primary care (GP); NHS in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services); in NHS adult and young adult in-patient secure units; in NHS adult services (NHS staff and community service), state and private schools and in private practice. I also work as an expert clinician and expert witness for cases being heard in the Family Court, and for many Local Authorities and Councils (especially adoption support services).

My special interests are working with teenagers and young adults, intergenerational trauma, parents, twins and multiples, high conflict divorce, complex family cases including parental alienation, working with the special needs of gifted and talented children and young people, and psychosomatic medicine.

I also have a special interest in working with the creative arts, in particular music and painting.

My CPD (continued professional development) includes EMDR, forensic psychotherapy (Portman Clinic); couples work (Tavistock Centre); Family and Systemic work (Tavistock, NHS) and CBT (Oxford and Bucks NHS Foundation Trust). I am a visiting lecturer and a clinical supervisor for trainees and fully qualified psychotherapists.

Laine manages a charitable fund providing psychotherapy for parents and children, along with research opportunities and training.
