Meera Mehta
Speech and Language Therapist
Meera Mehta is a registered Speech and Language Therapist, having graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2015 with a BMedSci degree in Speech Science. In 2019, Meera further enhanced her expertise by completing a qualification in Orofacial Myology at the Australian Academy of Orofacial Myology. With over 10 years of experience, Meera has worked extensively with children that have speech, language, and communication needs both in Kenya and the UK.
As a highly skilled therapist, Meera is dedicated to supporting children in achieving maximum independence and enhancing their quality of life in communication and social interaction. She works collaboratively with other professionals in multidisciplinary settings, offering services in clinics, mainstream schools (from nursery to Key Stage 3), special needs schools, and home environments.
Meera is qualified to carry out a variety of assessments, set therapy goals, and provide tailored recommendations for interventions. She is experienced with supporting a range of client groups, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Difficulties (LD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and Stammering. Meera also has a particular interest in addressing speech sound difficulties, Apraxia of Speech, and Orofacial Myology.
Currently practising as an independent Speech and Language Therapist, Meera is the founder of Speech and Language Techniques Ltd, an independent speech and language therapy practice based in North West London. She also has extensive experience in conducting speech and language therapy assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and in providing expert evidence during tribunal proceedings.
Meera regularly participates in clinical supervision and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities to stay up to date with the latest practices. She is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (membership number: RC0036910) and the Health and Care Professions Council (membership number: SL3393).
